Camphor is a stunning wood typically found in east and south Asia (but has spread to other parts of the world as well). It has phenomenal color, with streaks of red, orange, and yellow. Camphor has a strong but pleasant scent, its oil is often used in chest rubs, balms, and medicine. The wood's smell will dissipate over time (and the more you seal the board with wax). Camphor has many interesting natural properties, including antibacterial, antifungal, and insecticidal, making it ideal for use as a cutting/serving board. When taken care of, a camphor cutting board will last a lifetime. This silky smooth board measures 15" long x 10.5" wide x 1" thick. The wood's natural cracks/knots have been subtly filled to prevent water seepage or future splitting.

Hand wash with light soapy water when necessary and dry well. To ensure a long and healthy life, it's a good practice to wax/oil your board whenever it starts to dry out. This will help prevent cracking and keep the board looking great. Most board waxes are fine, just make sure it is food-safe. We make a food-safe Board Balm that conditions and protects your board. We will include a free sample in your order because we want your board to always look this good! Larger size Board Balm is available on our product page as well. Your board will arrive already mineral oiled and waxed, but we suggest a fresh waxing after a few months if needed.
To condtion the board, rub a soft cloth in the wax and apply over every surface of the board. Let the wax set for about 15 minutes then buff it off with a dry cloth. The wax protects the board as well as shines it up.
